Pontiac Ed Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 Are there any 1969 Chevelle cowl hoods in resin? Or L-88 type hoods?

Rob Hall Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 What about a NON-SS flat hood? I need one for a project. Tim I'd like to see one of those also...haven't seen one from any of the usual casters...a plain '70 hood would be nice also.
Abell82 Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I have been looking for an L-88 69 Chevelle hood for years, with no luck. You would think it would be a natural. Sooner or later, I'll break down, and make my own!!
Dragon7665 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 For some reason it won't let me attach a pic but here's you'r flat hood ,, shoot me off an e-mail at milberry37@hotmail.com "Fixed" Try [img ] [ /img] Without the space after the g & ], and the space before /img] next time Steve
Olle F Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Now if I could find a resin bench seat and some PE Malibu emblems to go with that hood, I could build a replica of my '69... That would actually be pretty cool.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Now if I could find a resin bench seat and some PE Malibu emblems to go with that hood, I could build a replica of my '69... That would actually be pretty cool. Olle, you can scratchbuild a bench using another rear seat and Model Car Garage has the photoetched emblems you need.
Olle F Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Thanks guys, i sure appreciate the information! Seems like the PE set has everything I need, down to the 307 emblems. Gotta think about how to build it though, I think a curbside will be enough work. AMT's '69 Chevelle is such a turd that anything else will turn into a 2 year project...
wagonmaster Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Steve, still have the hood or access to one? Tim
Lyle Willits Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Now if I could find a resin bench seat and some PE Malibu emblems to go with that hood, I could build a replica of my '69... That would actually be pretty cool. For a bench seat, you need a BACK seat from a second kit and some sheet plastic.. On the one, I've done, I added headrests from a '69 Olds 442.
Zed Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I do Tim. e-mail me at milberry37@hotmail.com Need one of those myself, but i've tried to send you an e-mail, but didn't get an answer ... didn't even know if you have had the e-mail..
Zed Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Humm, never got an e-mail from you, might have got bounced as junkmail.?? Anyway ,, sorry, I don't have any left and unfortunatly one side of my mold ripped on the last casting. I'll let you know if I do any more though. d'oh ! anyway, it's for a curbside model, the hood will be cemented closed, i only need the visible side to be nice ... hope this is the side you still have ... it is ? thank you Steve !
Zed Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Actually,, it is ,, the "top" side of the mold is still OK, except the cowl vent area is getting a bit rough. I'll try "slush casting" one for you later this evening. great ! thank you !
