Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 The second of my "aero warriors". I've always adored these cars. This is the '69 Daytona, painted in Vauxhall Sapphire Blue over a Calsonic blue base coat. Completely box stock, no mods. Sticker on the light was taken from the '68 Hemified Charger, I think. More in part 2!
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 And with my personal favourite, the Plymouth Superbird. This one's really worse for wear by this point, really need to build another one. Thanks for looking, all comments are much appreciated!
JasonC Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 nice box stock build. Some info that you may not know, is that they changed the Scat Pack bee for 69 to this one here,
Guest Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Very nice, needs the rear stripe, and the taillight panel is flat black.
Dominik Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Good locking winged-charger. nice! Perhaps, you can give the sidemarkers a little dot of color?
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 Thanks Jason, I wasn't aware of that! I'm not really familiar with Dodge history. I know a little bit but I've always been a Plymouth guy. @Lee - Yeah, I was aware of those, but I decided to leave it one solid colour with no flat black or stripe to different from everyone elses. Was seriously considering the flat black tail though, but I do like it as it is! @Dominik - Thanks for the heads up, I never even noticed them! Shows how attentive I am I'll get on that! Thanks for the kind words everyone, it's much appreciated
realgone58 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Looks good! Love the Scat Pack sticker on the headlight door. You may want to BMF the wheel lip mouldings while you're doing the side marker lights too. I like the shots of it next to the Superbird.
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Cheers! I didn't know they had chrome on the wheel arches. I really should look at more resources before I start
PARTSMARTY Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 THEY BOTH LOOK GREAT.I LIKE THE BLUE ONE W/OUT STRIPE-SHOWS THAT YOU BUILT IT YOUR WAY-AWESOME !!!

PappyD340 Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Very nice builds, I always liked those cars, knew a couple guys that had the 1:1 version and they were sweet! Good Job Tomo
Shelby 427 1965 Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Thanks Harry... impatience got the better of me this time. Cheers Larry! I'd kill to get to be in a Superbird. Funnily enough they aren't a common sight in Ireland..
Harry P. Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Thanks Harry... impatience got the better of me this time. Let's call it "enthusiasm," not impatience!
SuperbirdKing43 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Beautiful duo! Two of my dream cars. Nice job
