Draggon Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Finally some projects. The yellow 32 coupe only has a metal axle in the rear, and the primered Vicky was complete off of ebay, but suffered a fall from the shelf and is now in the project pile.
mrknowetall Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Ron Hamilton has a handsome collection of "builders" from the metal axle days. Here are two of his, and he's got lots more!
John Goschke Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 If I could write music, I'd write me a country song entitled, "Gimme Four Screws & Two Wire Axles!"...
John Goschke Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 ...set to the tune of "I've Been Wearin' Worn Out Suits with Brand New Pockets!"

W-409 Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 That '60 Dodge Phoenix caught my attention. Is it the Jo-Han Promo? You used the chassis that came with it, I guess? I bought one of those too while back. MPC '50 Mercury Snap Kit. I think I have no more, I've built 62 Models and that is the only one I can say surely that it has Metal Axles. Can't remember any other Metal Axle builds...
59 Impala Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 I have a few of these wire axle cars myself. 40 Ford 41 Plymouth 49 Ford 49 Merc and Ford These are just a few of them. I loved these kits back in the day. For one thing, you could play with them after you built them, and we (my brothers and Me) had a lot of fun crashing them into each other to see witch one lasted longer. Dan
