Davewilly Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 I started this one awhile back...2 years ago maybe? First paint job didnt work out so had to start over. This time I am happy with it so it even got clear coated yesterday. Now I can maybe get this baby finished. the before: the after: and a shot of the engine and chassis: So now on to finishing the interior and getting the BMF applied to the body and interior.
Davewilly Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 Looking really good Dave! That green paint really pops! This kit is my favorite parts donor kit. I have one stashed away to build sometime. It looks like it's a nice kit just by looking at it. Where did you get your photo etch pieces on your engine? Thanks! I believe they are from model car garage...I know the alt bracket is the pulley's detail masters....I have had them for a few years..lol
Davewilly Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 I also did a little work on my 57 Vette over the weekend...I added some BMF to the body and added the headlights and grill and the rear tail light bezels and put some BMF on the door panels (no picture of that yet) Thanks for looking
Mooneyzs Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Dave.... Looking Great!! I love the color you went with. It looks great. Was this the AMT '57 gasser kit?? IF so you have done an amazing job to a horrible kit. I had it started it and put it back LOL. I give you credit to what you have done with this. It looks amazing.
Danno Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Quoting myself from your post on the Phoenix forum: "Looking good, Dave. I LOVE the green!"
Davewilly Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 Thanks Guys for the comments I just hope it all goes back together as well as it did during the test fitting! The paint is from Scale Finishes and the clear is RM automotive clear. The Green on the seats is Boyds-Testors its really close to the body color but I wanted it to be just a touch darker for the leather of the seats.
slusher Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Beautiful color and finish Dave, nice foilwork on the cove also...
PappyD340 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 SUPER NICE build, you nailed the color choice, looks great!!
Davewilly Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Got a little more done on the Vette this weekend...Not as much as I wanted but at least its something. I got one of my door panels detailed. a little closer look. Thanks for looking!
Davewilly Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 I got some more of the foiling/chroming done this weekend. Both door panels are complete now. I also added the chrome trim to the body around the doors and seat area and started on the seats and dash. Thanks for looking!
