The great race is on Speed this weekend(all times EDT/ GMT-5)

Saturday 8:30AM to 2:00 PM, 4:00PM to 7:00PM Then 7:30 PM to the finish at 9:00 am on Sunday. The Gt class is great this year, Porsche ,Ferrari,Corvette,Viper and BMW

I went years ago. The high points were glowing discs as they braked past the fairground at night and running into Derek Bell on the ferry on the way home.

Since this may be the last time that the race is broadcast on TV here I'm getting the VCRs (yes,VCRs) ready to record the broadcast.Somewhere in my tape stash I've got the entire broadcast from,I think,1997.I'm not sure if Speed ever broadcast any of the subsequent LeMans races in their entirety.

I love this, and the broadcast will be running in the background at home, but like all Le Mans-style races, I get cross-eyed trying to follow multiple classes running different races at the same time.

I am suddenly feeling old. I was there FIFTY years ago (1963&1964). You never forget what you saw, heard, smelled, and felt. Everything is different now but the race is still 24 hours. Richard
