Ira Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 ENGINE MODS! The Supercharger from the 57 Chevy was a little small for this build. I replaced the Kit Engine with a Supercharger from a Corvette Zinger. It is about 20th scale which is just right. Test Fit! I had to remove a little from the Supercharger Belt and it fits right in there! More Coming...

Ira Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 I think I want to take my next vacation inside your head; It's gotta be like a wild amusement park! Thanks Johann! Sorry but we are all booked up...
Ira Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 That hole in the floor was that a short shot or did you cut it out for some reason like the notches you made for the seat? The 57 Chevy Kit was a partially built Glue Bomb, with several broken & over glued parts. The Hole is where Fast Freddies head was glued in. When the Head was removed it left a hole...
Ira Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Nice progress Ira, you really make this look easy... Thanks Carl!
Ira Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 MORE BODYWORK? I was planning to paint Cam-Air this weekend but I ended up restyling the rear end. I decided to add Frenched or Sunken Tail Lights to the Cam-Air, so I measured and drew 2 circles for the Tail Lights. I started the holes with a X-Acto Knife then I used a 1/2" Reamer to open up the holes. I am using 1/2" Plastic Tubing for the Tail Light Housings. I cut two 1/2" lengths for the Housings. More Coming...
Ira Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 THE HOLES! I positioned the 1/2" lengths of Tubing in place and glued them in with Zap-A-Gap, Green Label. Then I used a small sanding disk and rounded off the bottom edge of the rear end. More Coming...

Ira Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 THE SPOILER! I cut the Spoiler off the back of the ZZZZZ-28. After a little cutting and fitting I got the Spoiler to fit pretty good... Here is the Spoiler glued in place! More Coming...
Ira Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 CUTTING HOLES! I use these Scissors to cut thin sheet plastic. These "Body Cutters" were in the Radio Control section. I cut out 2 Discs to cover the inside of the Tail Light Housings. Here they are glued in place. More Coming...
Ira Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 MOVING THE PLATE... I decided to move the License Plate Housing right below the Spoiler. I am going to use the original Plate Housing for 2 BiG Exhausts. I measured and marked the area for the Recessed Plate Housing. I used a Cut-Off Wheel to cut out the area. I cleaned up the area with a Sanding Stick and an X-Acto Knife. More Coming...
Ira Posted October 28, 2013 Author Posted October 28, 2013 Looks like huge exhaust Ira. : ) That's the first thing I thought too...
slusher Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 I don't think you ever run ou of ldeas how to keep improving your builds. Nice touch on the spoiler...

Ira Posted November 1, 2013 Author Posted November 1, 2013 SINK IT! I cut the opening a little too big...so I glued a plastic strip in each side to fill it in. Here is the License opening after sanding the plastic strips down smooth. I will be using 1/4" wide plastic strips to make the Sunken License Plate Housing. Here it is with the plastic strips glued in place. I also glued a piece of plastic on the inside to close off the Housing. More Coming...

Ira Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) LIGHTS! I cut the 57 Chevy Headlight Housings off of the Grill Bar and found some 1/16th scale Headlight Lenses that fit pretty good. I painted the Headlight Lenses white. I positioned the Headlights in place and then traced a line around them. Next, I ground off the excess plastic outside of the Headlight Line. More Coming... Edited November 4, 2013 by Ira
Ira Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 SCRIBE and PRIME! I wanted to mention that every time I add a Primer Coat to the Body, I re-scribe the door lines. I use a #11 X-Acto Blade to start lines. The #11 Blade is also very good for making straight lines, by using the edge of the Blade. I also drag to Blade through the door lines backwards to make the line thicker. Then I use different scribes to make the lines even wider. I added some more putty around the taillights and anywhere else that needed it. I applied another coat of filler/primer and a very little more putty. looks like the body work is almost finished! Front Mock-Up! More Coming...
