Thanks Bill! I don't recall the episodes now, but loved it as a kid, and primarily due to the car! :)

There will be literally nothing shared with the M-kit once I'm done, and be an entirely new kit as a result, but as you rightly said, my goal in this build is to make it correct to the real car, but foremost it's a fun build subject!

A facebook friend messaged me earlier today, that he has come across a 1:1 unbuilt body of this car, in his town, in a storage building recently condemned, and made a cash offer to the owner, so we'll see if he gets it? :D

Widened & shortened & reshaped the tail section, opening the middle for new light panel yet to add, along with a new face panel used to make it crisp along edges, but also add the rearward curve shape

I probably should re-build mine at some point too. i see yours has the same problem as mine with the misaligned rear axle (sits too low in back).

the season 2+3 car, which was built on a DeLorean, so larger, and ungainly IMO

I agree it was ugly. the Delorean car was built, i believe, because Hardcastle (or was it McCormick?) had difficulty getting in the Manta.

You mean the Monogram kit build? Yes, it has many many problems, including the rear axle height, but it uses the GT40 kit as it's underpinning, where as my kit has the fabricated chassis shown above, so that will all be fixed

Also the tires and wheels in that original kit were horrid, so this one will be supplied with correct dimension BF Goodrich tires - by Joseph - and correct wheels from my Vector W2 kit, slightly modified for this kit, which will make the appearance and stance of this finished kit correct! :)

Yes the season 2+3 Delorean based car was quite hideous, but as you say the Judge likely couldn't throw himself in through the window LOL

Here is a screen shot of him struggling into the Manta - season 1 - car, and another of the Delorean - season 2+3 - car, with gull wing door open

Been so busy, but more progress on the build now

Entire back clam shell modified, extended aft of wheel opening, widened and channelled as previous posts show, rear engine cover area resculpted and contoured back to upper structure, canopy pillars resculpted for increase angle and match of the corrected windscreen pillars

Front clamshell getting extensive changes, the entire nose section was wrong, especially the head lamp enclosures, so being resculpted each, the fender tops contoured correctly, and windscreen opening recontoured

Once the main bodywork is done, then will start match up to the lower body sills, which are part of the chassis pan

Hi Dave,

I'll have some more updates on this build shortly & Vector kit build, not much work has been done since my injury, and first on my plate is to complete the Shelby GT500 build, but then back on the Coyote and Vector full speed after that! ;)

Some more progress now, as I'm healed enough to resume some working again!

Continuing on with the bodywork, both sections in hard primer for sanding, second headlamp pod being created to match, additional fine filler work for imperfections

Chassis being matched up to front clip at the sill joint(s), and relation to wheels in wells viewed

Thanks Erik & Carl!

Yes, glad to be doing more work, still have about 50% articulation of my thumb use, but doing physio to help get more mobility, break down the scar tissue and repair the tendon :)

Test fitment with recessed windscreen in place, and center roof section, shows rear buttress height needing to be raised for proper roof angle to result
