Chris White Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Way cool Jim, your builds keep getting better. Was this a fun kit to build ????
crazyjim Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Thank you very much, Chris. I had fun with the kit, but it's so small. The build would have been easier if I didn't lose the little collector that fits between the pipes from the engine to the exhaust.
Chris White Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Thank you very much, Chris. I had fun with the kit, but it's so small. The build would have been easier if I didn't lose the little collector that fits between the pipes from the engine to the exhaust. Was it that the parts are too small, or we are getting too old to see them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
crazyjim Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 What do you mean "we", Chris? Being in your early 40's makes you a pup being viewed from the far side of the 60's. Oh to be young again . . . .
Zarana-X Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Nice job. I like the interior. The Mustang taillights were popular on these back in the day.
crazyjim Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Thanks, Jason. The Mustang light were very popular. The 1:1 Empi Imp I had used them. You really can't see it in the pic, but the interior floor was sprayed with Rustoleum texture paint - gives the interior a multi-color bedliner look.
crazyjim Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Thanks, Neal. My Imp had big & littles like that and I liked the look.
Dominik Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 sweet buggy - it looks so small. well done Jim!
crazyjim Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 Thanks, Dominik. It is small. A normal VW is small and then you shorten the frame 14 1/2 inches for a dune buggy.
ddk Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hi Jim, I have just a question: where did you find your pulley cover ? Good job ! I will post mine soon ....
crazyjim Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 Thank you, ??? I would have used your name but it's not there, like it's supposed to be. The pulley cover was in the kit box.
ddk Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Sorry, my first name is Didier. Thank you Jim, I didn't think to see in the box !!! I was looking for this piece for a future project IMP buggy. You can see my Meyers Manx on a French Forum before I post it here : http://koolestkruzers.smileyforum.net/t11032-wip-buggy-meyers-manx-amttermine-01-08-2013
crazyjim Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 No problem, Didier. Glad you fixed it and welcome to the forum. The blue buggy looks like a 1:1 and is very nice. I like the work you have going on with the kit although I can't read a word of what it says. Post some pics.
slusher Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Very cool street version Jim. love the wheels, color and Mustang tail lights...
