My most expensive so far was the replica of my '90 F150 4x4. It took three kits, a resin engine, a couple of tries with paint colors, and assorted other stuff. I didn't keep a tally, but I'm sure it was over $100.

I will spend a lot if I REALLY want to build something. I have some 1/32 jets that cost almost 200 bucks. But those things take many many hours. The price per hour spent becomes very little. How many fun things can you do in this world that is 1 dollar for an hour? As I've become a better modeler, I find myself buying less and less aftermarket goodies. I realized a few years ago that clean execution and FINISHING a model are worth way more than extra detail. So that paradigm shift has saved me some dough.
