dimaxion Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 I am beginning to think of why I have this as a Decades Old Long Term project ?? Bump ??
Casey Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Are you looking for 1970-correct dog dish caps? The only 1/25 '70 Roadrunner is the JO-HAN kit, which came with bucket seats. Harts Parts resin '69 RR bench seat may be the closest thing you'll find.
Randytheroadrunner Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I'd love to see somebody make a resin '70 Road Runner off the old Johan.
KevinMoparFord Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Someone did cast it for a while, but I do not know who. I bought this one at NNL East 2 years ago. I know Bandit Resin makes the 70 GTX and Missing Link makes the 70 Road Runner grill so you can probably make the Roadrunner from the Bandit kit. You do not get an interior tub with either kit and the bumpers were not chrome when I picked both of these up. The Bandit kit is makred $40, but that was probably 4 or 5 years ago and was picked up when he was at a show. The quality looks good. I have not dealt with him on line so I am do not know how long he takes to ship or if he still makes them. Just offering this to let you know what you might find on the internet or at your next show. Here are some pictures.
dimaxion Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 Affirmative on the '70's Plymouth Dog Dishes / Poverty Caps / Hub Caps / Lug Covers / AShiney center parts .. lol .. along with the steelies . I have the resin Bandit Body (x-GTX) and the Missing Link Grille . The streering wheel / dash I've had since 1986 . I am trying to dupilcate a Stripper RR I remember with a .. hold on .. Hemi of the Street variaty . I stole a MPC "General" chassis for this one already . I may liberate the Int. Bucket and modify some bench seats to finish this . I don't remember what headrests these had . Like I previously stated , a LTP for sure . Thanx ..
george 53 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Bandit Resins 70 GTX body FALLS onto the interior AND chassis from the 70 Super Bee by AMT, ANY version. I have it and it fits like a glove! You can go ahead and buy from Kenny, I've gotten at least 4 or 5 bodies from him, He's GREAT to deal with! Oh and the 70 RR/GTX had wide, headrests, supported by two chrome posts comming from the top flat of the seat back. Bucket seats had built in headrests.
Craig Irwin Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) I'd love to see somebody make a resin '70 Road Runner off the old Johan. Mine is an R&R piece, and is one of their best. Edited September 6, 2013 by Craig Irwin
Randytheroadrunner Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 When I go to the Bandit Resins site and click on the '70 GTX this is what I get: 404 Error File Not Found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Web Hosting provided by Bluehost.com I have e-mailed Bandit Resins 3 times about this, and I get no answer.
Michael in Illinois Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I have e-mailed him last month and he told me that the kit was not available at this time. When I asked is it planned for sometime in the future, I'm still waiting for a response.
Casey Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 John, maybe you could try narrowing and shortening the 1/24 Revell '70 RR's bench seat? How close to the '70 seat is Missing Link's '68 RR/Satellite bench seat?:
