de3freak Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 ... Greetings ... : It has been quite sometime since my last posting, I believe it was in Decemer of 2011 or maybe 2012 . Lot's of things has happned since, spent almost a year at the VA hospital after surgery, radio surgery and therapy, but I am back ... To say the truth, it has been sometime that I have been discharged from the hospital and doing ok. This model was my project at the VA. I saw it as a way better therapy and a very good spirit rising and motivational means than the plain and non creative board game, coloring books and peg & block therapy. I mixed the roll cage color using good ole RUSTOLLEUM ( last I remember BLACK and WHITE still make GRAY ... ) This was done under their supervision and all the way in the back of their smoking grounds. The model was airbrushed there also, again under supervision, especially since I lost most of my balance and coordination on my right side, I used my left side, and am still learning, but hey ... i'm getting there ... . The STAFF at the VA were so pleased and satisfied with the results that talk's have started in planning to include this as a THERAPY, they assured that it will happen but that it will take it's time as well as a few presentation to the BOARD and such. A few way's to make this happen have been disccused with me, I have been keeping in touch with them, and REVELL (SNAP builds, I have been informed of their CLUB BUILDS offerings ), let's see how it results ... . The whole project was a very good Hand Eye coordination excersize, and a very keen motivational developer. For me, as a person who has been modeling since age 5, this can seem normal. But too an individual that has never done a model and is in someway depressesd and feels somewhat challenged by the way their life has changed, this whole model project works miracles. One feel's great to see that a lump of uncolored plastic can result into someting that person never saw themself doing is way pleasing and a good feeling comes to one as their smile and pride shines up. It sure is a good esteem energizer and builder ... ... and that is a good thing.

de3freak Posted September 8, 2013 Author Posted September 8, 2013 *** Greetings *** : Hope everyone here as well as family and friends are all fine ... . Thank you all for your comments, they are all valued . This model was a great way to overcome condition, and helped others see that not all is lost. The way I see it and hope to see others realize things, is that we can do things as everyone else, just in a different way ... . I am working on another model ( I will post pictures when done ) as well as a prehistoric scene ... I am back ... .
