thnx guys and yes it did , i was like whow that looks spot on .. :)

also made a mix with oil paint > bright red with a dash of black and made dark red and washed the wheels

i'm happy they still are crisp and sort of shiney ...but not so sterile anymore

after the first wash

after 2 washes , wheelnuts will be chrome and not going to ad centercaps , that kind of killed the look ..

dryfit of the parts

now i'm thinking about the chassis ... the floor and tunnel will get the same wash as the body but chassis wise i'm not sure what to do , wash it or paint it black .... hmmmzzz

i could wash the chassis and make the tunnel and floor like bare steel so its not all that brown

i need to find the right combination of tones to get it looking exiting and not to brown overall

maybe even do the grill shell in chrome to beak everything a bit

LOve the Patina paint job.....some builders like to show the "weld lines" where they did the chop...I think it was called brazing??anyways its like a bronze or gold colour...I've always like see the weld lines in the rat rods....gives it that "true working class" look to it.

thnx guys and yes dr crancky it def will be finished :) always finish my builds before starting a new one :)

and the weld idea is something i have been thinking about doing , can easely be made with polyester bondo afterwards :)

and thnx ira !!

yes rene i use like those small tubes they use to paint oil paintings , they are widly available in so many shops ... we have stores called blokker where you can buy household items and they sell sets and they cost almost nothing

dit the chassis tonight with the oilpaint and man , i was amazed by the depth at the rear ...

2013-10-19192421_zps825bdc81.jpg

also did a small part of the driveshaft and the bar above the petrol tank , washed that a bit so it was not to clean and shiney and matches the rest better

front suspension and the ford logo on the grille in chrome , that needs some washes to match the rest betetr and become less shiney and add depth

RnR....thats just sick! very nice ride!....Have you heard of Uschi (wooden decals)....This company makes the most realistic wood decals that I have ever seen...Would look great on truck beds, floor boards ...etc....

Nice work on your build.

Can you tell me the glue you use. I have not seen or heard of the brand. Any opinioin about it?

Posted

thnx :)

the glue is called platic weld from plastruct (brand is plastruct)

its awsome stuff because it will glue almost every type of plastic and also glue difefrent types together like abs , butyrate acrylic etc ..

most important is to sand the plastic before glueing , styrene doesnt need that but harder types of plastic need some pre sanding

takes a liitle longer to set (not a lot) but then its great

website > south wallace place , city of industry (just googled this for you ) :)

over here in holland its pretty available .. btw they also seem to sell styrene and plastic just like evergreen
