crazyrichard
Radical wicked cool. thnx this update really starts to show the outcome just see > btw loads of detail will be added , like fuellines , wiring , airlines , compressor and as much as i can add .. i want this to become my most detailed model ever (well it already is lol) used a big scale bike exhaust to make a airtank for the rear airride , added 2 plastic rings and the ends are the headlights of this kit , those where flat and molded in one without clear glass , so perfect end caps for the bastard tank i think bastard rod is a good name for this one haha its made of so many scrap parts now did more work on the undersode at the rear so its now closed there and hits the rear of the bodywork , under the bar tehre sits the fueltank electric fan in the radiatorhousing , will get some more detail like wiring and stuff seen from the front losse set up with the wheels , i will either use the chrome centercaps with ford in the middle or make chrome wheelnuts , steelies will get a mild wash to get the deep parts a bit darker . tomorrow the paint will be dry enough i think with the flathead now its a matter of making steel pins for the rear wheels and getting a rolling chassis .. then i can set the bodys hight , its already set but on the rear i can still paly with the hight a bit then i can really add the final details like lines and wiring and get paint going idea is to paint the body steel color .. then with the salt technique paint it army matt green so it looks like peeled of paint i think that looks great with the red wheels

crazyrichard
thnx guys much apriciated !!! and renato , yes i will use those seats from the kit .. or maybe (not sure yet) build my own the kit seats are a not really bomber seats but more those small buckets .. problem was i had several cool seats but due to the tunnel they where to wide . the kit seats fit like a glove and yes that link is going in my favorite list , i have been looking for those for ages !! one downside is i will have to get it send to holland so probable not for this build .. but those pin ups are cool for future builds ! crazyrichard
Hey Richard, Awesome work,!! Did you used the wheels from the kit? Keep it up! hey < thnx and yes those are the wheels of this kit they are just so nice ! airlines with bras tubes , kept it simple , the compressor would be build under the floor / airtank in the back .. made one you could see but that just looked messy , even though its a rat .. body on and the body is primered made some dents while building and now in primer you can see them like here on the left low side on the rear the door at the bottom not really sitting right , also did that on purpose and hey original bodys are also not perfect fitment wise right ? caddilac lights dryfitted close up , not sitting center in the hole on the final placing they will be either i will use these seats (from the kit) or i will make scractch build seats , not sure yet chassis primered , still wet on these pics , now it really becomes one

Another suggestion......Wildhare has 1/24 photo-etch bomber seats! www.wildharemodels.com thnx and whow those seats are awsome .. but .. me being a cheap ass and wanting to think out of the box i would not buy seats for that price , i'd rather try and make something of my own but cool they def. are !! crazyrichard
the chassis and body together in dryed primer did a basecoat of matt army khaki paint on the body and chassis , to work on .. still wet on the pics it will dry up super matte you can also see i kind of made the left doorpanel go inwards to create like a indented panel and also made a crease on the front this week i was squeezing a bit to hard on the roof and the back glue seem of the topchop cracked just a bit , you can see on the pic in the rear i didnt lined it up right so i will have to fix that chassis , really tight and i cant waight when the basic chassis color and weathering is done to really go for painting the details like chrome parts and black and all the tones to bring that to life this build method is kind of a way i developed myself to build as much on it as i can and afterwards paint small details with a hand brush , works best for me because i really had issues in the beginning fitting painted parts together
crazyrichard
all dry , put together for a dryfit ..the plan is to put salt on the whole outside of the body , the grille frame and spray it matt green (army color) so the inside and chassis is plain green and can be given some washes and the outside of the whole body and grille frame is chipped .. then loads of detail painting with crome and other colors .. steel bomber seats ... i love how the front chassis came out with those industrial looking braces underneith
Dinky
Nice to see some color on, from here on it will go faster. I really like the shape of the seats, but its a shame that the belts are molded in. Personally I don't like it, it does not fit into this very nice rod. bpletcher55
NICE GOOD TO SEE SOME PAINT ON HER,NOW COMES THE REAL FUN PART!MAKING HER COME ALIVE.
crazyrichard
thnx guys and yes the molded seat belts are not nice , sanding them off isnt goint to work , the material is to thin so i will be making my own seats from scratch .. that also fits better in this build because there is almost no kit stuff left , beside the body and wheels lol and yes blair really bringing it to life wotj colors and painted details is always so much fun .. but i have to stick to the plan and first get the green going ... so when you use salt you spray some water on it so it stays on right ?? because its tricky i have to salt the outside and top and then lay it on its roof and first spray the inside and flip it and do the outside .. crazyrichard
well this morning i was playing with some brown oil paint and wanted to see how a wash would look , especially how the deeper lines would look darker .. that came out so cool i decided to ditch the idea of the green paint and flaked paint .. i just love this look , a bit vintage , no rust but just a weathered and dirty look .. opinions are welcome , just aplied it on the pics when its all dry , may take 2 days with the oil paint , i can use super fine paper and sand the higher lines so they are a bit highlighted again ..
