KevinMoparFord Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Couple of projects I am working on and started with the same color so wanted to show them both. The Datsun is 1/32 scale and will be boxt stock/curbside. Cars were both painted with Boyd's Ice Blue Pearl. The 48 Ford I wanted to try something different and cleared with the newer Clear to Purple Flip Flop of Testor's. Not sure I am thrilled with the results. Car does have purple hue to it, tough to see in pictures. Looks better in flourescent or low light, get it in bright light and it gets a washed out look. Hard to see the differences as much in photos. I ended up clearing both with Omni urethane clear. One word of caution on using the flip clear, I sprayed a spoon in low gloss black enamel and then used the flip to purple clear hoping to get a cool subtly effect, instantly turned the black to a really cool shade of purple, no flip flop, cool metallic purple.
Modlbldr Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Wow, Kevin. Those are both looking very good. Nice work on the paint. Later-
NormL Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I have owned many of those Datsun roadsores, very fun little cars. Can't wait to see the progress
