Guys....if you are going to rebin posts to other folders, it would be nice if you could advise the poster, as well as any others who were already following the post.

Thanks in advance for your consideration....TIM

I don't have the time to send everyone an explanatory note. I have to move topics all the time.

If people would take 10 seconds before they post and think about where their topic belongs, 90% of the topic moving would be eliminated.

This very topic is the perfect example. It had to be moved because it was posted in the wrong place.

Remember the big to-do when a bunch of people were complaining that the "General" section was filled with a bunch of off-topic stuff like "My cat died" and jokes and all sorts of things that had nothing to do with model cars or anything automotive-related? People were getting tired of wading through all the off topic stuff on a forum that was supposed to be about model cars (and full-scale cars/automotive topics, as almost all of us also have an interest in "real" cars)... So we decided to add an "Off Topic" section specifically for all the off-topic stuff... and to keep the "General" area strictly for model and car-related topics only.

Harry, I'm not sure if this forum supports it or even if it is desirable to TPTB, but I have seen other forum software that can leave a link inte original posted location directing folks to the new topic location. Possible?

Yes, I could do that. But I don't. I'm trying to make a point. If I move a topic but leave a link, the original poster might not realize that his topic has been moved. I'm trying to get it through people's heads that they should post their topics where they're supposed to be posted and not wherever they feel like posting it. I get really tired of constantly moving topics every day because the poster was too lazy to bother posting in the correct place, so I move topics to where they're supposed to be and don't leave a link. That way the poster has to look for his topic... and hopefully when he finds it, he'll realize why it was moved to where it was moved.

That's funny as I just counted over 7 topics that shouldn not be in the general section then and one of them was started by a moderator

You must be referring to your post about the Toledo NNL's cult themes, which you posted in General Discussion. There is already a topic about the Toldeo NNL in the Contests & Shows section, which is where posts discussing contests and shows should be posted.
