Sorry for the bit of the long lead-in, fellas. Last week was April Fool's week, never mind just one day, but now that all the fires are out, I can resume my regular boredom!

There are a lot of reasons I build model cars. But, one of the reasons I've started to become as active in the hobby's social aspect is that I can honestly say I have met some of the nicest, most thoughtful people in this hobby as I have anywhere else.

Greg Wann happens to be one such individual.

He had offered to cast me a few of the little odds-and-ends I needed for Kitty I (It'll become self-explanatory shortly,) an offer I graciously accepted, with the understanding that it might be a bit before he got to it. No biggie, I build at a sub-glacial speed anyway.

I was NOT expecting this!

Greg VERY kindly sent along a near-complete kit, save for a couple of bits I'm ordering from The Modelhaus.

Last Monday, I received a body, chassis, interior tub, both the chromed road and full wheel covers, and plenty of interior parts.

Had a bit of trouble with focus on this one. I'll try again later with more light.

Guys, Greg's casting is EXCELLENT. It's as good as Don Holthaus, DRAG, Hendrix or any of the other reputable casters, if not better. Given that and his character, I implore upon all of you to please give him business!

This car will be Kitty II.

Last Friday, I was sending out more resumes when the mail came, and I went to get it, and sitting at the door was another box from Greg. I was wondering "what on Earth else could he have sent?"

I received the original car used for the casting of Kitty II, along with the instruction sheets in photo-copy and a copy of the original decal sheet, which is kinda cool to look at.

To say the least, I could've been knocked over with a feather.

Over the years, I've seen little gestures of goodwill and kindness amongst us all. A few spare parts here and there, encouragement when your meisterwerk is failing miserably, or when time comes and humanity dictates that we need a friend for other reasons. I've also seen a lot of folks donate kits to other modelers who lost things due to fires, and to kids who wanted to start in the hobby.

This, however, was completely unexpected.

I'll never be able to thank Greg enough for these great gestures, and I promise to make the most of all three of these models I can.

I'm now re-strategizing my building plans, and that will be coming sooner rather than later, probably after NNL-East, when I have most of the rest of the parts.

This is the original '64 I received. It only needs the driver's side exhaust manifold, and I think I can scrounge that out of one of my other Buick engines, or something that'll look good, anyway. Presenting Kitty III

Again, sorry for the rotten pictures- for some reason, I can't get that camera to focus well lately, leading me to wonder if the electronics are on their way out. I'll try again with my compact 35mm instead of the digital, along with some more in-progress photos.

Hey Charlie,

Now you can open up a Cat house! LOL. Actually the built one is one I purchased to do the casting but bought a mint HT kit so I used it instead. I also have a nice mint convertible kit too. I was looking for another kit when I ran across that built up kit and decided it would be a great prize for you. I did buy a set of tail lights From the guy that comes to the DSC that has Modelhaus parts.

ENJOY!,

Greg
