Foxer Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 (edited) I need to do a set of Fuchs with aluminum outside rings and black centers. I planned to paint the aluminum first and then mask the centers, but how to get a good mask for this is throwing me. Here's a shot of the 1:1 wheels like I need .. and these are the wheels before primer. It's just the deeper center that has to be black, the shape not exactly as the 1:1 photo above. I'd appreciate any thoughts greatly. Edited October 6, 2013 by Foxer
Casey Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I would use some type of aluminum sleeve, and insert the center web from the back. Getting a really nice separation line between the black and (natural/bare?) aluminum is going to be very difficult via masking.
Mike Kucaba Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Find anything circular(like a coin) and paint the center. Drop the circular mask on the center held with a dab of Liquitape then paint the rim.
