Deckerz Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 I am currently building a 1/24 Tamiya r32 skyline, for those not familiar with the kit the wheels fit on by pins, I am looking for some great detail wheels to go well with the kit but I don't know which way to go to find the correct rims, aoshima and fujimi do some real nice wheels but will they fit? Thanks, Dec.
martinfan5 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 You can make wheels from Aoshima /Fujimi fit with a little bit of work
Exotics_Builder Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 As Martinfan5 said, you need to do some work to fit as Aoshima and Fujimi wheels do NOT have a pin in back for mounting. There used to be an adapter set for those wheels, but I haven't seen it advertised in a while. Check the Japanese sites or contact Steve Hemmings at Hiroboy in Britain. HTH
Exotics_Builder Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Found the adapters. You need to look for Hobby Design Axis sets. Product HD07-0060 1/24 Wheels Axis Set looks to convert an Aoshima/Fujimi to Tamiya set. There also is a set to go the other way. Again, might want to check with Steve Hemmings of Hiroboy.
circaboy Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Hey guys! This is fantastic! I didn't even knew that those existed, till now. But before I get some, I'd like to know how these work exactly... Is the bigger end suppose to fit in your wheel? And then with or without the polycap? Thanks in advance and sorry for my "not so good english", I'm working it out
martinfan5 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Yes, the bigger end goes into the wheel, and the smaller end is what goes through the brakes and into the polycap Edited October 18, 2013 by martinfan5
