squirrel886 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 ......finally got something for the rear suspension arms. I cut off the mounts on the front radius rods, and cut off the rear axle suspension mounts. I drilled out the rear mounts to accept the front radius rods.
squirrel886 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 ......and the parts for the rear suspension.
squirrel886 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 ......just need to cut to length, and I'll be good to go.
squirrel886 Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 Thanks Stan! I couldn't see spending $28 on 4 pairs of Heim joints that most wouldn't see. It took me 7+ months to figure something out, and it came in a dream last night. Maybe now I can finally finish this.
squirrel886 Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 I'm happy w/ the way it turned out. I'm thinking about adding a pan hard rod though.
squirrel886 Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 .....deepened the gas tank a few millimeters and built a frame for it.
Dinky Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Awesome progress, good job on the pushrods I had the same idea
squirrel886 Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Frame rails filled and smoothed finally, and interior has been reworked. Maybe I can finish this Rat Roaster Highboy now.
squirrel886 Posted August 13, 2014 Author Posted August 13, 2014 ......filler neck and gas cap on the Lowboy.
squirrel886 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 ......stock kit parts on top, modified parts below.
bpletcher55 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 bradley , this is looking good ,you have some nice ideas that you used on the frame ,i.m not a roaster fan and have never built one but this is making me want to in a bade way , keep up the good work ,i to like the gas cap and the tank placement ,[nice ].
squirrel886 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 Thanks for the compliments. Blair, I wish someone would produce a resin replacement interior of the sides, back, and seats. It would make building other variations a lot easier. The kit interior is specific for the Rat Roaster, and doesn't modify too easily. Here's a dryfit of the radiator and grille.
