The Creative Explorer Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 I just heard about a mysterious Pocher Prototype, of only one in existince and never went into production. Appearantly it was showed at the '91 and '92 Nuernburg toyfair, but due to barely interest, it never became a production model. From what I have understood, it would've been a Lamborghini, but can't say for sure, I enquired for more information and hope to share it soon.
sjordan2 Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 (edited) As I heard it, this was kit K62 of a Ferrari F50. The prototype was stolen somewhere around 1995, and it was never produced. This is from Brady Ward's website:A sad story: the Ferrari F50 was featured in the 1995 Pocher catalog as an upcoming kit, but never released. I have heard a few explanations: Tamiya's ready-built 1/12 F50 made them uncertain of it's marketability; the factory prototype was stolen in Europe before the tooling was finished; and it was a victim of non-renewal of their Ferrari licensing contract prior to Ferrari's worldwide deal with Mattel. The Creative Explorer Posted October 12, 2013 Author Posted October 12, 2013 It's not the F50 and Hornby still has the 'mysterious' one But thanks on the info about the F50, didn't knew that.

It would be good to know if it's a Lamborghini. But if it's a Miura, someone else beat them to it.http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/large-scale-cars/39415-1-8-miura-3.htmlhttp://modelrossi.jimdo.com/ Edited October 12, 2013 by sjordan2
The Creative Explorer Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 It is not a model we ever going to see produced, so if it is/was a Miura, they would've been beated the Italian Although I would assume it would be done as a Pocher like the F40/Testarossa, so not a great amount of detail.
Harry P. Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Rivarossi went bankrupt somewhere in the mid-90s... so that also was a factor in no more new Pocher kits, probably the main factor!
The Creative Explorer Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I guess so, although the story goes that they didn't got into production because of lack of interest. Well, I finally got the info; it was going to be a Lamborghini Diablo Roadster! Didn't expect that one, I'll try to get the pictures uploaded soon. The (resin) car has been restored, as it was in bad shape.
ZIL 111V Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 90's Diablo indeed was the rumour but tought it would be the coupe one first...then the roadster (a bit like the Testarossa kits)...As mention Riv/Pocher was not in a good financial situation back then, so no wonder the Diablo project was stopped.
Bugatti Fan Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 There were some rumours going around at about that time that Pocher were going to make a Willys Jeep kit in 1/8th scale.
