I got halfway down the first half link and quit.. it is mind-blowing but its been brought up before about rusting muscle: People with dreams of one day restoring it, or it holds value to them in a sentimental way I suppose.

I think the one that surprised me the most was the Lancia Stratos that was sitting in someone's back yard. That one had been one of the Alitalia cars, and I think it had been the one to win the 1976 Monte Carlo Rally (if I'm mistaken please correct me)

I don't recall off hand, but yes that car is very important in Rally history. And the Senna Marlboro McLaren, like wtf man, sell it to someone to put it on a show car circuit or auto museum or something goodness lol. I mean, how does one even get hold of one of those? haha

Reminds me a bit of the recent big car auction in Nebraska from the "Lambrecht Chevrolet" collection, where they had cars with 1or 2 miles on them, basically brand new, left to rot in a farm field....

Where the heck do people get these things!? Seriously, how does someone get ahold of a Le Mans prototype, or an F1 car?

There's a daytona in my town that has been parked outside under a tarp for twenty years. I talked to him once and got the proverbial I will restore it one of these days. Such a waste of a classic musclecar.

Unfortunately that's what everyone hears......
