coreylee Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 i am in the middle of building a full scale truck and was thinking it would be neat to build a modle that was a replica but cant seem to find a model kit of a 1958 chevy i have found a 55 and 65 but nothing in between...does anyone know if there was one ever made??? seems odd that they would have skipped the body style but im new to building models so not sure

blunc Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 diecast just mean you have to disassemble, paint then reassemble. May be the best option for you.
Craig Irwin Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 (edited) AMT 55 Chevy stepside + Modelhaus resin 58 cab kit builds exactly what you want, quick and easy. Edited October 26, 2013 by Craig Irwin
Longbox55 Posted October 27, 2013 Posted October 27, 2013 I'm with Craig, the Modelhaus cab is the way to go. However, I would suggest using the AMT '57 Stepside if you're going for factory stock, as it has the correct steering column and steering wheel for the '57-'59. You will also need a front axle from either the '55 or '57 Cameo for a stock build, as both of the Stepsides only come with a dropped I beam.
