Can I use Model Master lacquer primer as a first primer on a styrene plastic model? Will it damage the plastic? I was going to experiment on an old body, but thought I'd ask here first. Thanks,

What Jon said. Their lacquer is very, very mild, and I've never heard of it causing problems on the common plastics we see, except occasionally with the super-soft Revell garbage.

You can, of course, because it is formulated for hobby use. However, you'll find out sooner or later that it is the worst primer on planet Earth!

What's a better white primer?

Tamiya's white primer is my preferred primer and I'm sure no one will contradict me when I say it is at least one billion times better than Model Master white primer.

I've used Testors White Primer many times with great results and Tamiya White Primer as well. I don't do any spoon/sprue tests and whatever happens, happens. so far I've been very lucky as I don't test colors either. I just shoot from the hip.

That's what I end up doing too! I have painted noncompatble paints over each other with great success!
