MikeyB08 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 (edited) Here's my build. Not up to par with some but I like it. Enjoy! Edited October 30, 2013 by MikeyB08
Harry P. Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I suggest you look into foiling the chrome trim on your next model. It makes a huge difference. Also... wipers and door handles?
MikeyB08 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Oh yea. Forgot to mention that. Driver side door handle snapped on me when I was cutting in from the tree and wipers snapped in the middle "Arm" joints. Happens to me all to often. I've been wanting to try BMF but I always get intimidated.
slusher Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Very nice build James. Love the interior work. I followed the build. Sprue cutters at hobby lobby will help on cutting out those small parts....
Danno Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I suggest you look into foiling the chrome trim on your next model. It makes a huge difference. Also... wipers and door handles? And . . . mirrors?
MikeyB08 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Somebody stept on his toes ??????? Nope. Was thinking of working on the charger some more but I'll leave it be. One of the better models I've built so as long as I'm happy, all is good. And . . . mirrors? Only came with one mirror so I left it off. One mirror always looked weird to me.
Erik Smith Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Nice work, James. There are all levels of builders on this forum, so don't worry about it being "up to par". I like the work on the interior and as long as you have a rearview mirror, your good! Well, at certain times in history, pretty sure you'd get a ticket in Washington for it now...
Daddyfink Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Hey, this hobby is about enjoying yourself. And that is about pleasing YOU! Good job and keep at it! As and aside, I sometimes just use a silver Sharpie pen instead of foil. Its easy and quick!
MikeyB08 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 I've tried using a sharpie before for the trim and always have a problem with streaking or you can see the start and stop of the ink. Any ideas to combat that?

Any ideas to combat that? Try a silver paint pen instead? Don't know if it was intentional, but I like the black turn signals.
MikeyB08 Posted October 30, 2013 Author Posted October 30, 2013 Never thought of a silver pen. And the black signals where not intentional lol
Chris White Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 nice build, good work, looks up to par to me

No as long as you have a rear view mirror I believe your good here in Washington.
