slusher Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Nice scratch work Seth. Glad to see you back on this cool build..
FASTBACK340 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Nice workmanship. I'm loving all these detailed builds going on. Especially all these killer Mopars!
Metalmad Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 (edited) Got the fuel rails finished today but they still need to be cleaned up a bit yet.Next I will mount rails into intake manifold & then start scratch building the fuel pressure regulator & run the fuel lines to the fuel regulator & fuel pump. Metalmad Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Need to get back on this build. Just been busy with work & life in general.
Metalmad Posted March 16, 2014 Author Posted March 16, 2014 While I was fitting the body to the chassie the other night I dropped the car and unfortunately some of the paint on the right rear lower quarter panel had chipped off & the only way to fix this issue will to be to strip the paint & repaint the whole car which means I may change the color.
slusher Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Hate to hear that Seth. Your not having good luck with this build...
Metalmad Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Well got the body stripped of the paint and back in primer again so now its time to shoot the inside of the body with a mat black for the interior color of the headliner then the silver on the outside for the first coat then the color coat. I also have finally scratch built the fuel rails out of aluminum rod & bead wire to simulate the injectors which will be attached to the scratch built manifold.
Metalmad Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Well this is what the Bee looks like before the color coat & will try & shoot the color this weekend.
mikemopar70 Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Another really cool Bee. Can't wait to see it painted!!
Metalmad Posted March 29, 2014 Author Posted March 29, 2014 Thank you Carl& Michael ! This build has been fighting me a bit but I will get her completed it's just taking a little patience on my behalf and learning from my mistakes.
Belugawrx Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Don't know how I missed this one!? It's looking really good.. I feel your pain on stripping paint, but it's almost there now! Keep up the awesome work Cheers
Metalmad Posted March 30, 2014 Author Posted March 30, 2014 (edited) Well I finally was able to shoot some color on the Bee today which now Is a different color since I ran out of the red. So next I will be applying the decals & getting the front & rear side markers detailed and then a few coats of clear to finish off the body. Edited March 30, 2014 by Metalmad
slusher Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Looks great Seth, glad to see some more color on your build...
Metalmad Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Has anybody else noticed that on a lot of kits that that the configuration of the steering wheel to the drivers seat is always off plus not in scale sometimes. Reason being that I ask is that in the Bee kit the configuration is off on the way the stock steering sits basically on the drivers seat. So I have replaced the kit steering with a smaller one so it looks realistic to scale. Edited March 31, 2014 by Metalmad
Belugawrx Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 I have noticed and every car needs massaging EVERYWHERE Lookin`cool Keep goin Cheers
Metalmad Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Was able to get the side markers BMF & painted this evening so next will be the decals.

Metalmad Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Thomas the paint was Testors One Coat Lacquer Lime Ice decanted from the can then airbrushed. Thank you for the encouragement ! This build has been fighting me a lot of the time but it has taught me some lessons as I move along with it slowly.
dragzz Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 hi seth i know what u mean my tempest gave a run for my money two paint jobs then i got it right best way to build is to take your time cant wait to see your build all done keep going u will done befor u know it
Metalmad Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 A little progress on the Bee which is that I have applied the rear strip decal but disappointed with the decals that come with this kit because I was wanting to use the C strips that go along the sides of the rear quarter panels but as soon as they where put in the water for about 30 seconds they just broke apart as they came off the paper. Next step will be to clear it this weekend.
