1/24 Alfa Romeo GTA Junior as RC-Car

I always liked the Alfa Romeo GTA Junior, but there is no RC-Car version of it, so i decided to build my own.

As RC-car chassis i've choosed the Kyosho MiniZ MR03MM chassis using the modern 2.4GHz transmission.

The body is taken from the Tamiya 1/24 Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint GTA kit.

The GTA Junior version has enlarged fenders, which were build out of Resine and putty.

The chassis wheelbase was modified to fit the body. The body is mounted on the chassis with orginal Kyosho body mounts.

Since the car is very fast the body is reinforced with pads of glass fibre.

The speed depends on the Motor and gearing, but MiniZ'S are really fast.

With standardmotor the MR03 MiniZ reaches about 25km/h.

Using tuning motors will make them much faster, but the Alfa GTA is using a standard motor,

because it's used only for 'friendly' racing with some mates.

I will post some more pics of my other MiniZ cars - eg. Ford Escort Mk1 , BMW2002, VW Karmann Ghia,

Opel Commodore, Renault 8 Gordini all modified to use them on MiniZ-chassis

My very first BMW was a left hand drive 2002 that had flared arches like your lovely model, was lowered with a limited slip differential and a hot engine with a 300 degree camshaft and 2 twin choke 45 dcoe Weber carburettors on open bellmouths. I never found out the history of it and sadly it was written off in London by a drunk driver who drove into me. I used the engine and other good bits to make my first racer, with help from some friends.

Sorry to hijack your thread, I love the Alfas too - my sister had two of the roadgoing GTVs, one after the other, back in the seventies.
