kendog261 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 (edited) Thought I would share my latest build with you. A 1952 Chevy stepside truck see below photo of the truck I'm building. I am making this out of two kits AMT 1950 3100 Texaco truck and Revell's 65 Chevy stepside 2 'n 1 truck kit. Hope you enjoy the build. 1-1 Truck cab before removing the door. Have to fill the vent as the 52 does not have one. Door removed ready to do some sanding. Going to remove the door handles and use handles out of the 65 kit same with the molded wipers. Added wing window needed for a 52 truck. After first primer coat filling panel lines that shouldn't be on the truck and added fender lines. Edited February 6, 2014 by kendog261
PappyD340 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Very NICE start Ken, does the 1:1 truck belong to you?
kendog261 Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Very NICE start Ken, does the 1:1 truck belong to you? No the truck is not mine it belongs to my boss
PappyD340 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Well that is a sharp truck none the less, you picked a beautiful subject, one of my favorite Chevy truck body styles, keep it going Ken!!
Skydime Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) Nice start on this build. I've gotta ask, do you know if the 1:1 has it's original frame or an S10 longbed frame modified? It would be cool to see someone take a Revellogram S10/Syclone kit and stretch the frame to use with one of these. Edited November 15, 2013 by Skydime
lower99 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Nice start! By the way: you have a cool boss!

kendog261 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Here is a photo of the interior of the 1:1 truck and a photo of pre fitting of the interior
kendog261 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Posted November 15, 2013 Here is a photo of the firewall and engine in the 1:1 and the firewall so far. I had to completely sand off the front of the firewall and add some fillers to make it smooth.
hjracing Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Nice start, it's sounds like a great project. I'll keep an eye on this one!
Skydime Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Very nice! Looks like you're going all out on this one.
kendog261 Posted November 17, 2013 Author Posted November 17, 2013 Couple updates today Redid the firewall I think it turned out way better this time. added some details to the seats and revised the center council to match the 1:1 truck better Another view of the 1:1 interior
kendog261 Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 Thought I would do a small update from the holiday weekend work. Did some work on customizing the frame and fitting the wheels. Also started fitting the motor. A photo of the distributor I bought from Model car garage its very nice unit. Some parts I picked up for the build Fitting the V-8 motor
kendog261 Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 Fitting the front end and tires A few photos of the frame so far
Skydime Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Both of my 50 Chevy kits had front leaf springs. Are the spindles and control arms scratched or borrowed for something else? Still looking sharp BTW.

Still looking sharp BTW. Partial scrap built with the spindles and disk brakes (not shown) off a extra Revell Enzo kit. The rear end and engine is out of the 65 Chevy stepside 2 'n 1 truck kit.
jeffs396 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Cool project! Will you be installing & filling the cab corner seams prior to paint? Almost all of these I see built install them after the interior is placed (I guess the interior would need to be modified to insert with cab corners in place?). Haven't built one of these to know for sure...

Haven't built one of these to know for sure... That is a problem I haven't quite figured out yet but I'm working on it. Any ideas would be great

Haven't built one of these to know for sure... The interior will still fit if the corners are installed first but it does take a little coaxing to get it in there Edited December 13, 2013 by zaina
