Randytheroadrunner Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) I'm building a Nostalgia Super Stock Plymouth similar to this one. What wheel & tire combination would be the best to capture this look? The chassis is from the Lindberg 1964 Dodge, and the body is a Jo-Han 1963 Plymouth Fury. I don't want to tub it out, but I do want this stance. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated. Edited November 20, 2013 by Randytheroadrunner
Randytheroadrunner Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 The one that came with the slant six. Just skinnies and dog dishes in the box.
Randytheroadrunner Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 I was going to buy the wheels from Futurattraction, but according to his shopping cart, they are no longer available.
John Pol Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 check out speed city resin they mit have what your looking for John Pol
W-409 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 So are you doing a replica of that particular car as it is in those pictures? Or are you building a car "That could have raced back in...."? If you're building a straight replica, the Lindberg '64 Dodge 330 kit's tires are a good choice. They have Good Year lettering on their sides, though. But if you want to build a car that could have raced in 1964, for example, you'll need tires from the Speed City Resins. They are 7" Cheater Slicks, the only tires that were legal in Super Stock back in the day. http://www.speedcityresin.com/
Randytheroadrunner Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the input guys, like I said, it's gonna be like the car and it will be for the Nostalgia Super Stock Class. Steve contacted me and says the tires/wheels are on the way. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nostalgia_Super_Stock Edited November 21, 2013 by Randytheroadrunner
W-409 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 like I said, it's gonna be like the car and it will be for the Nostalgia Super Stock Class. Whoops... Sorry I missed that part of the text. This will be an interesting build for sure. Keep us posted.
Randytheroadrunner Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Here's what I'm starting with. I got this on Ebay for $31.99 last week.
High octane Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Are those the same tires that come in the Color Me Gone kit?
gtx6970 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 They came in both the CMG and the Ramchargers kit. I would have to ck but I might have an extra pair
Randytheroadrunner Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 I looked in my stash, and I had a Maverick Dodge kit. The slicks in the Maverick kit are more modern than the cheater slicks you posted.
