BluePopsicle Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 In being over anxious to finish up my Corvette; I've started a new one. =) This one is a 1932 Ford Convertable and it will be basically box stock. I have two engines to play with and one is from this kit and the other is from a 33 Ford P/U with blower and supercharger. I'm really wanting to keep this kit pretty simple as it would be nice to actually complete one. Pictures coming very soon. Enjoy!
BluePopsicle Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Got all the parts airbrushed a couple days ago. Today I hope to spray the rest of the body so I can start putting things together. I'm still going to spray some pearlized trident stripes on the body. Any suggestion on which engine I should use?
69H.O.Firebird Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I would not use the one with the heater hoses for spark plug wires.
BluePopsicle Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Those will get cut off and painted black to be used as spark plug boots.
BluePopsicle Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 OK here are some pics of the engine (as mentioned above) after it's been finished.
Dragfreak Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 not to hijack the thread but it looks like that is small block chevy, if you want complete correctness with the ignition wire routing this would be correct for a small block chevy..
BluePopsicle Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 Naa that's cool Jason, I don't mind at all. I've decided to save this engine for another build as it sits, but I will end up moving the wires to resemble the Chevy engine. I do believe that this hotrod will end up being box stock this time. BTW: This was the first time using I've ever tried to add any actual details to an engine. =) Thanks for looking in.
Jantrix Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Don't sweat it Jon. We learn as we go. Research on the engine is very easy to do with the marvels of Google. Here's my first attempt at adding wiring and fuel lines. In my case the ignition lines should be through the valve covers, but instead I've got them going to some mystery location. And for some reason, I can only count seven ignition wires. It's also got small block chevy headers.
BluePopsicle Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Right on Rob, I don't feel so bad now. =) OK, I got my new paint booth this evening and I just had to check it out. Sooooo it was the perfect opportunity to put some trident stripes on my ol' '32. I've got 2 pics below and I'll explain them a little bit. The first pic is bright and sharp but doesn't show the pearlescent very well. The second pic is dark and blurry but shows the pearlescent very well. They will give you the idea. Thanks for looking in.
BluePopsicle Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 I got some work done on this today so here's some update photos for you. Thanks for looking.
IMPALA SS 427 Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Very cool, i like the trident stripes. where did you get the tyres from?
BluePopsicle Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 (edited) Thank you for your comments. I'm glad you like it. James, the tires are from the kit. Sorry for the spelling error. I use my tablet to check the forums and it's got a mind of its own. Edited December 4, 2013 by BluePopsicle
BluePopsicle Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 I got the tub painted last night. Just a glimpse at the color scheme I'll be using.
BluePopsicle Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 This build is finished. Starting a new thread in Under Glass.
