New Revell kit. I installed the separate chrome side trim before priming because you can get the little burrs off, get it to fit perfectly and when you Bare Metal everything else, it all will have the same level of shine. Wheels are from the new Revell Merc kit with those new-fangled 1-1/2 inch white walls from 1962 painted with a drafting compass.

265 from the kit with a modified 3-carb intake from the 348 in the AMT '58 Chevy kit. Chromed air cleaners from a Monogram '40 Ford pickup. Set up the electrical system to use one of those new ALTERNATORS, like on the '62 Corvette. B) The car will have a tube grille and solid red tailights, maybe some dummy spots.

I picked up an AMT '62 Pontiac custom in a junk store for 6 bucks, just for the interior parts. I split the back of the Pontiac front seat and cut up the rest of the Poncho interior and grafted it into the Chevy parts. All the piping is blue detail wire.

Hope to have this done in a couple weeks,,,,maybe sooner. Thanks for looking.

Looking good, Lyle! :P You are another one that I haven't seen an in progress build from yet. I always love to see how the masters do it.

Looking good, Lyle!! I just picked up one of these kits this morning. How well does the chrome trip fit? I'll probaly strip, apply and BMF it like you're doing, I'm just not sure when in the paint process to attach the trim.

That looks great, Lyle. The paint is spectacular. Did Cruz school you in the art of polishing? :) 'Vette engines were a pretty popular swap in those days, too. My brother still has his 2-dr. sedan from 1965!

Hey Randy, it should be me learning from Lyle, not the other way around. The only thing I taught him was to use mirrors for the undersides of his models :):) It was more of a "cheating" lesson than anything else :lol::lol: By the way, the reason why he doesn't have hub caps in the 55' is because I have them home, he didn't even notice :lol::lol:

You should try and relax man...I've been working on my control panel settings over the past few days, so as soon as I get things in order over there, hopefully you will be able to rediscover your mellow zone, and I'll have a perfectly cropped, sized, and pre- approved signature image... G'day mate!!

Yep im feeling pretty relaxed, its amazing what Captain Jerry can do with his magic rum, its all good man. I didnnt mean anything by it..

Superb work, Lyle, as always ... makes me want to jump right in and get started on mine!

BTW, is that turquoise from the Model Master lacquer line?

Sorry I missed your question before.

It's Tropical Turquoise from Tamiya. The white is Duplicolor.
