DrKerry Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) This is going to be built for my Kustom Kemps In Miniature model car club. It will be built as a somewhat futuristic, kustom electric powered rig. I'm also planning on going hub less wheels on it. The photo in the background is just to get some ideas as far as shaping the new truck. Thanks to MKII for the parts on this. Slight angle chop on the roof for starters... Not sure on the Bandag rear section yet.... Edited December 15, 2013 by DrKerry
kilrathy10 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Looking pretty good, Man...Looking pretty good....Nice work on the rear portion of the truck....
DrKerry Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Got the fenders on it today. I used a set of Peterbilt fenders, tightened up the arch so they hug the tires. I'm thinking of the lower portion of the Cannepa front bumper to tie the front end together. JT, I'm still not sure on the rear treatment. I may take the slope out of the back end and lay it flat. Not sure yet... Hopefully more pics tomorrow...
Custom Hearse Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 To answer your sticky note question, it's a building with a lot of books... Love the project! This is gonna be cool to watch!!!
DrKerry Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 To answer your sticky note question, it's a building with a lot of books... Love the project! This is gonna be cool to watch!!! Now yer just being funny!!!!!!!! I just wanted to make sure IT knew what it was!!!!!
DrKerry Posted November 24, 2013 Author Posted November 24, 2013 Made some progress yesterday.... Had a day to do some modeling...
DrKerry Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 I used the Cannepa headlights down low on the nose. Starting to take shape.....
DrKerry Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 Ok, here's a bit more on it. Using the Super Boss back half, cut down the slope on it and leveled it off.Where you see the truck sitting will be the ride height of it when finished....
DrKerry Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Got some frame mock up work done today. Working on the rear body section right now....
DrKerry Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Well kind of, this is going to be a kustom semi with trailer when done....
fantacmet Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Aesthetically speaking, it's not my style, however the workmanship on it so far beats the snot out of anything I can do. Looks GREAT. Perhaps something you should see about casting in resin, might just be a market for it.
Kennyboy Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Man that is looking cool Kerry!!!! Love the look with the headlight doors in place! When you cut up those wheels can you save me the centers?? If you aren't using them that is.....
DrKerry Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Thanks gents, I'll be posting more photos later this week, the bed has changed quite a bit...... Not sure on the centers Ken, if I get rid of them they'll go your way.....
Custom Hearse Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Looking forward to seeing more updates! This is gonna be cool!
DrKerry Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Got the rear wheel wells in place.... working on the rear side panels...
DrKerry Posted November 30, 2013 Author Posted November 30, 2013 Rear wheel wells are roughed in. working on side panels now. So what do you all think so far???? Have to arch the frame to clear back side of wheels.
Custom Hearse Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Are you going to make it able to haul a trailer? Looks great Kerry!
