Jouko Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) HOW COULD THEY DO THAT TO US!!!??!?!??! Because there is life also outside the US. Edited December 14, 2013 by Jouko
Rob Hall Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 This is the original Boxart from the kit: it is a pure european Beetle, 1968 called 1200A or Standard . New tooled kit from Revell of Germany. The box "California Wheels" is unfortunate, not the piece of cake. "European Line" would hit it. I'd rather have it in the original RoG box, but it doesn't seem to be available in the US in that box...I have the convertible in the RoG box.
Dominik Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 (edited) Because there is life also outside the US. I agree *lol* @Bill: the kit is correct for the European market. Trust me Sure, if you want to build an US-Beetle from this year, you have to change the "mistakes" to your US-Specification. I'd rather have it in the original RoG box, but it doesn't seem to be available in the US in that box...I have the convertible in the RoG box. Rob, if you need one, let me know. PM me. Luc Janssens Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 Because there is life also outside the US. Good one, but understandable since the US is such a large country. In the summer of '93 during my first visit to the USA (CA, AZ, UT, NV) our King Boudewijn died and my brother and I didn't know about it, until we returned home. Luc

Atmobil Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Sorry for bringing up another old thread but I got plans to build a model of my own 69 1300 out of the sedan and I plan on moving the taillights over from the cabriolet version. I'm also going to use the bumpers from that one. I bought an extra kit just for that reason. Not 100% how to move the tailights over yet but thinking of maybe cutting in to the rear fender or maybe even moving the complete rear fenders over. In any case I think I will do the opposite for the convertible and somehow try and backdate that kit. And yes, this is a European spec 68 1200A. In the instructionbook for my 69 the 1200 is separated from the 1300 and 1500 by several details even down to the fact that it did not have a fuelgage.
