Trans Am Erik Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 This is the start of a large project that should be a fun build for me. I plan to make detailed versions of the most popular MASK toys. All the cars will be displayed in attack mode. I'm starting with the Thunderhawk Camaro. http://youtu.be/2EV1mzyGNOc http://youtu.be/2iCYNVult9g
Deathgoblin Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Okay, definitely interested. I loved M.A.S.K.
randx0 Posted December 7, 2013 Posted December 7, 2013 Cool Idea ,I look forward to seeing this progress.
Trans Am Erik Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Disassembly went pretty smooth, got rid of those ugly ground effects. Now I have to fabricate the window frames before I cut the doors open.
Deathgoblin Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 So, we're looking at Rhino, Thunderhawk, Hurricane, Gator, Jackhammer and Raven, maybe?
Trans Am Erik Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 Here is what I am basing the Thunderhawk's jet drive on, the turbine powered Jaguar C-X75 concept car. In the diagram just change exhaust to thrust! The engines
Trans Am Erik Posted December 11, 2013 Author Posted December 11, 2013 So, we're looking at Rhino, Thunderhawk, Hurricane, Gator, Jackhammer and Raven, maybe? Yep!
doulane1 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I spent a whole day watching toy reviews and videos of M.A.S.K. after your post. It was wonderful. I had firefly ( a sand rail) and the Thunderhawk Camero. I hope the project goes well, I am following.
Skydime Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) Wow! I thought I was the only person that remembered MASK. When everyone else was hardcore collecting Transformers and GI Joes, I was collecting these. I had Thunderhawk, Scorpion, Firefly, Bulldog, the black car that split into three pieces, the 300 ZX, the motorcycle with the sidecar, the RV, the blue SUV and I am sure others I don't remember. (Sorry I don't remember half the names now.) Heck I even saw my old Bolder Hill set in my parents' outbuilding the other day. Edited December 13, 2013 by Skydime
Trans Am Erik Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 I have an F14 and an F105, both 1:48 to kitbash for the M.A.S.K. vehicles. Thunderhawk's body goes into the purple pond tomorrow.
atenzapower Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 That is cool. I do remember the series, there where fun. I was in to the gi joes, ,and got also the camaro.
Trans Am Erik Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 I started on the gullwing doors using a roof out of the parts box

Zarana-X Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Crazy, man. Do you plan to make them transfromable, or just static battle modes? I'd thought about making the 57 Chevy myself. The gullwing mod looks awesome so far.
Trans Am Erik Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Static battle mode cars. The doors are a little droopy but I'll adjust them.
Trans Am Erik Posted January 26, 2014 Author Posted January 26, 2014 Turning doors into wings: i used a pair of toneau covers for the underside of the doors. They allowed the doors to have an aerodynamic wing shape.
Trans Am Erik Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Making jet engines out of wheels from the parts bin
