Bennyg Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Very cool project. Brought back a lot of great memories. I had the purple truck when I was a kid, it was 1/24 scale, my brothers had the green bike and the camaro that you're doing here. Cant remember other vehicles we had. Mum got it for me for Christmas, I think I was 8 years old. They were the coolest toys at the time. Cheers Ben Edited February 19, 2014 by Bennyg
Johnny1973 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Great job on the body mods.I remember watching M.A.S.K as a kid.

Trans Am Erik Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Armerment: instead of laser guns my Thunderhawk will have a pair of M1919 machine guns courtesy of the Batmobile.
Bennyg Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Hi Erik. Are you doing the truck as well? I guess you are from the first pic, based on the monogram/revell w900 snap kit. Ben

Trans Am Erik Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Two more cars for the M.A.S.K. project Hurricane 57 Chevy Scorpion 72 GTO
Skydime Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Erik, you are doing a really great job here. I like the idea of posing Thunderhawk as if it were up in the air. As for Hurricane and Scorpion...I had almost forgotten hurricane. And I found my old Scorpion at my mom and dad's house the other day. A little dusty but, otherwise in good shape.

My origional Hurricane and Scorpion are in some of the earlier pics. I'm also planning on displaying Gator and Raven in false water from model rail roads.
Trans Am Erik Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 The seats came from a die cast Mustang
Trans Am Erik Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Filling and new nose piece for the underbelly
jjsipes Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Just did a quick search on evilbay to see what they had in the vehicles. I forgotten alot of them. I think I still have some of my toys stashed. Some of them high very high prices on them. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2053587.m570.l1311.R3.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.Xm.a.s.k.&_nkw=m.a.s.k.+toys&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Trans Am Erik Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 For Thunderhawk's wheels i would like to get something that favored the ones on the toy. What do you guys think?
vwrabbit Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Thanks for bumping this back to the top. I loved M.A.S.K.! Hope to see more of this! I know how life can get in the way...
Trans Am Erik Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 (edited) I don't get much time in the model room these days chasing my little one around, but I Thunderhawk is back on the bench! I am really glad to see there is still interest in my build. I'll post pics real soon. I am fabricating the duct work from the scoops on the underbelly to the jets. I've turned the steering wheel into a flight yoke. I also have a new display stand from a 1:43 SR-71 Blackbird. I was undecided on the wheels, but I am going to stick to the Centerlines that came on the car. Edited September 25, 2014 by Trans Am Erik
Trans Am Erik Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Here is the almost complete interior. The ducts for the jets are engine air ducts off a Countach. I turned the steering column into a pilot yoke.
