I'm working on one of those too, I didn't like the kit chassis, so I'm swapping mine out with a 1967 AMT Mustang chassis.

whow awsome , that looks sweet !! one small thing (ment in a nice way) the body looks superb but the wheels / rims look like they are sticking out , rough edges .. maybe a sand of the outer egde and a wash for the deeper parts will bring them to life , would match the rest so much better

Nice looking Mustang.. You might try to use some black wash on the wheels and engine.
