Jantrix Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) One kit, the T/A is listed as 1/24 and the second, the 2in1 is listed as 1/25 scale. Whats the deal, two different kits, one old Monogram 1/24 and the other a Revell 1/25 kit? Or is there some misprinting going on? Edited December 17, 2013 by Jantrix
Casey Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 The 1/25 kit is die-cast based, while the 1/24 kit is the original Monogram kit. They are two disticntly different kits, and totally unrelated. See here for the 1/25 scale kit review: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=17859&hl=challenger#entry193815
Guest Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Whats the deal, two different kits, one old Monogram 1/24 and the other a Revell 1/25 kit? Exactlly. The Monogram 1/24 kit is actually better proportioned than the Revell 1/25 kit. The 1/25 kit has a slab sided flat look to it and IIRC, is based on a die cast mold.
Jantrix Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Thanks guys. I was just curious as I have the 1/25 six pack 340 coming in a trade.
Rob Hall Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) Thanks guys. I was just curious as I have the 1/25 six pack 340 coming in a trade. IIRC, the engine in the 1/25th kit is pretty bad--the kit was a 2n1 with T/A and R/T versions with the same block supposed to be a 340 and a 440.. Edited December 17, 2013 by Rob Hall
Jantrix Posted December 17, 2013 Author Posted December 17, 2013 Rob as long as the distributor is in the back and the valve covers have the correct bolt pattern I'll be okay.
