f1ford48 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 modified from a pickup- Ford actually offered these as can be seen in the dealers catalog image.
1930fordpickup Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Frank looks great . My brother had a 52 just like it , takes me back a bit.
f1ford48 Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Hi Andy-I have a 1/1 1948 F-1-but its a pickup- I remember seeing a factory F-1 stake bed like this in Salinas back in 1977-the whole truck painted gold! it had the FORD script bed. thats the only one ive ever seen.I think ford offered the stake in the F100 series up till the late 60's.
jerseyjunker1 Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 i love what you did with this truck. the color is perfect it actually looks 1:1. i have some 18th scale trucks i have been trying to get to but at my age time is running out so i better get to it. lol
AzTom Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Very Nice. Do you have any Work in Progress photos? Sure would be great to see.
f1ford48 Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 Hi Tom- this was built long ago- I dont have any ''in progress'' photos. but I can tell you the stake bed is from the 34 ford 1/18 truck.. the running boards , 1/4 fenders and frame for the bed scratch built. a pretty easy conversion.
AzTom Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Thanks Frank. I hope future builds can show WIP
Chuck Most Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Very nice. And indeed- you could get a factory Ford stake bed platform, the one on this truck is the same style used from 1932 well into the 1970's with few changes.
