Ron Hamilton Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 On Memorial Day 1974, my mom made a decision to buy a new car. Not to go too far into the story, this is what she came home with. Fast forward 39 years. I have always wanted to do a model of the car. A couple of years ago, my pal Jerry Frasier sold me a built-up MPC '74 Caprice Coupe. I decided to try my hand at a conversion, and here is where I am as of now. Please excuse the fuzzy cell phone photo. I promise to take better pictures. I have to make a grille, and a few refinements to the body.
Tom Geiger Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Neat project Ron. I do like those vehicles with real life connections. It makes them special. Will you be changing the engine to a small block with auto trans? I have two of those to do myself in replicating our family 1970 and 1971 Chevys!
TimKustom Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Very cool conversion! You know I love them big chevys!

I found an acceptable air cleaner, and I have a few small blocks in the stash.

om617 Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Looks much better after the conversion. I know it`s just a matter of taste.
