The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Hello everybody, Just a newbie, my name is Erik, I am from the Netherlands, but residing in the United States since march and going home within 2 weeks. Because of that, I can only show some finished work. The cars have been made in the United States and I had to improvise a lot, since I do not have a lot of tools and a nice shop to work in. I know that my work is not as good as your stuff, but hey, I'm trying This is basically a OOB Pontiac, marvelous kit from Revell, fitted together very well and gave nice detail to show.
dub Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 You did a great job for an "on the road" build! Looks fantastic. Do you have more builds at home over in NL ?
The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Thanks! I just registered at this forum today, so I haven't posted much yet. I did made several projects back home. If you're interested I can post some of the old finished ones. The ones I've put on this forum finished are made in the USA. working on a kitchen table or a freezing cold shop. When I work on the cars back home, I will work in my room again with the proper tools and materials. Best thing about having spent some time in the states is stocking up. I have added 90+ kits to my already 120+ kits inventory. I've paid a massive amount of shipping costs, but all worth it
LVZ2881 Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 not as good as our work!?!? nonsense!!! it looks great!!!!
The Creative Explorer Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 Thanks tough, but there is still a lot I need to learn.
Scooby Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Looks good to me!! You do very nice, clean work. I've seen this kit at Hobby Lobby but this is the first one i've seen built. You did an awsome job on it!!
Dave McFly Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 i had that kit but got rid of it years ago, i personally prefer the polar lights GTO which has a hardtop and a droptop versions. the PL kit has AMAZING detail for a snap kit like the separate frame rails from the floor pan and separate gas tank etc, highly recommend it!
outlaw035 Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 nice build...steef...luv the graphix...are they a decal or done by you...neal
The Creative Explorer Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 @Dave; I just bought this kit earlier this year online on eBay, not knowing what to expect. But I must say that this kit came together very well. The interior could've been a bit more detailled, but still good. I cut out the posts tough, to give it a nicer look. @Neal, the decals came with the kit.
Jantrix Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 That's a great looking build and the color is perfect! The foil work looks excellent. I've also built this one. It's a great kit. The graphics are kit supplied decals and look fantastic. My only gripe with the kit is that the rear of the body, is so tight that it pulls the chassis further into the body and it's a pain in the neck. I used a piece of cardboard folded accordian style in the trunk area, to maintain the correct fit. I won't step on your post with pics of mine, but here are a few URL's if your interested. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g73/Jantrix/000_0165.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g73/Jantrix/000_0092.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g73/Jantrix/000_0093.jpg
