53Suburban Posted December 28, 2013 Posted December 28, 2013 Hello from a new member from the San Francisco bay area. I've been building all sorts of models since the early or mid-50s. I started off with ships and airplanes, including the rubber band balsa and tissue paper one, then into military stuff and HO trains, then on to model cars in junior high. I stayed pretty much with model cars through high school and when I was in the Army. I took a break from modeling from about 1967 until around 1970 or 71. Built a few model cars during that time and then around 1985 I became "re-obsessed" with model trains. Got tired of that after about 10 years and started modifying 1:6 scale action figures and fashion dolls. Got back into model cars again about 3 or 4 years ago. I recently discovered two boxes of "survivors" I had built ranging in age from high school builds up to the 1970s and 80s. What a trip down memory lane that was. Most of them were in pretty good shape for their age. Hope to be able to contribute as well as learn here.
