tqfastfish
Hi, I have a 1970 cuda model that I built years ago and im now rebuilding and im missing a hood, How do I tell if I need a 1/24 or 1/25 scale as I have no idea how to tell the difference. I have NO box or anything to tell the scale of the body
The70judgeman
Check the bottom of the model for which company produced the kit. A picture would help us help you also. Somebody here should be able to give you an answer then.

mnwildpunk
Monogram more then likely 1/24th
The70judgeman
Based on that it's a Monogram model, it's 1/24th scale and probably a '71...not a '70. But the picture will tell the tale. If you can, show the front end...'70 & '71 'Cuda front grille areas are very different.
Casey
I just looked at the bottom and it says its a monogram ,I will get pictures tomorrow. It's 1/24 scale then, and not a '70, but a '71. Monogram only released a '71 Cuda, never a '70. Also, please post questions to which you're looking for a specific answer in the Model Building Question & Answer section instead of General Discussion. Longbox55
Looks like what you have the "Revell" '70 'Cuda AAR, which is 1/24 scale. I believe this one may have originally been tooled by Monogram, but have been unable to find any pics of a Monogram box art for it.
tqfastfish
hmm. It had a double bump hood and was never a aar

Casey
Ah, I see now. Revell released the 1/24 '70 AAR 'Cuda, which shared many parts with the existing 1/24 Monogram '70 Dodge Challenger T/A, so the chassis still had the Monogram trademark. The AAR was molded in that lime green color, and I can see the funky stretched roofline on the body, so you're got the 1/24 Revell AAR kit. Not sure if the Monogram '71 twin scoop hood will be a direct fit on the AAR body, though.
tqfastfish
Okay, huh thanks for clearing that up, I musta built that longer ago then I thought because I don't remember it being a aar kitSo I am looking for a twin scoop bulge hood for a 1/24 scale cuda
tqfastfish
Does it have to be 1970? Or will 1971 work, wondering if anyone else has info on this

I wouldn't use the R-M '70 AAR as a starting point for anything..dreadful kit. Best to just start w/ the new Revell 1/25th scale '70 kit which has that hood as the optional hood.
