MsDano85gt Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I got lucky and got one complete with the box partially started from flea bay for pretty cheap 10 bucks plus ship also got a incomplete parts car one (how i discovered this gem) from a mcm trade! hopefully i can make 2 complete ones the real working retractable hardtop is sooooo cool multi piece body may be a bit challenging though??
Eshaver Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 It's buildable . I say if you take yer time , it can be made to look like a very presentable model . I had to make the top arms as mine were simply too flashed over to be useful .
espo Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Please post your build. I would like to see how this one goes together. I think I have one that I used the chrome wheels out off years ago. It looked a little intimidating for my building skills at the time.
MsDano85gt Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 will do very nice build ed i need to figure out a proper color combo for the car....
Bartster Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Can't wait to see this one, Danny ! You plan on going stock ?
MsDano85gt Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 hey Bart! good to see you around here again! yes stock stock stock may add a more detailed "parts box" motor i want to say this has a "y" block in it perhaps?
Guest Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Yes, a 352 I believe. Have this in the works myself. I will take pics and start my own thread.
lower99 Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Cool, i had the german issue of this kit, love the wheels.

I will take pics and start my own thread. I believe it represents a 332 or 352, but if so it's an FE and not a Y-block. The port spacing on the model engine is wrong for a Y IIRC, which has exhaust ports spaced like a smallblock Chevy. FE exhaust ports are evenly spaced. Although the FE-engines have a Y (deep skirt) style block, they are not part of the commonly accepted Y-block family. Another Y-block identifier is a rear-mounted distributor. FE engines have the distributor in the front.
Edsel-Dan Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I have Several of this kit From Originals to the RoG 50th Anniversary issue. I built this 74 issue back then I had very little trouble with it then!! I was only 13 too!! She is in the process of a full resto, but stalled; I got this one built. All I did was match tires, and repaint the white; And this is Build 3 As a Skyliner! Started with a Skips issue (First Skips!!) Yes I opened the doors!! I have a Large Strip Styrene "T" glued into the body to keep from breaking the Rockers until I permanently glue the chassis into the body. And here is the Fourth I am building. Notice it will be a Custom Sedan!!! YES that IS a Police car in the Making!! Baltimore City! Rims are from AMT 57 fairlane 500, Tires are AMT Skinny Firestones. NOT Supremes!! They are Not as hard as many will lead you to believe! I simply assembled the body arround the chassis to assure a straight body!!!!
~Mark~ Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 This was one of my favorite builds ever so long ago. I'd love to do justice to what I butchered so many years ago.
