  1. I'm sure this is covered a million times, but how did you strip the chrome? I think that made your engine.
  2. Just outstanding that's all just outstanding.
  3. Thanks guys. I think I'm hooked. Just ordered the AMT Model T kit.
  4. Cool idea. I'm going to be using this one.
  5. It looks good. I think I'm going to build something very similar for taking pictures. I like the workbench and drill press.
  6. I'm tagging this one so I can follow along.
  7. I'm tagging this so I can follow along. Awesome work. Way more talent than I have.
  8. Great color!! Gunna look gooood.
  9. I've found that mats and flats can gloss up perfectly. It was a trick Uncle Sam (real name) from my favorite LHS showed me.
  10. No sir. This is my second car build. I did a few ships and aircraft. Here's my build pages if your interested. https://ussnorthcaroilna.shutterfly.com/ Thanks.
  11. Google is my best friend. This is what moved me from ships to cars. This is the USS Bataan that I built for my son. He is currently serving aboard her. After 9 months of working for perfection in this scale I needed to decompress, and cars are about as far from this as I could get. This ship is as spot on as my abilities could get. She has LEDs lighting the island, hanger, and well decks. Home made decals for the hanger, and the flight deck is all masked and airbrushed. No decals at all. So as you can see, the cars were a nice way to keep building and still decompress. Now I'm going to be starting the USS Libra AKA-12 for my friends 91 year old grandpa. So back to the tiny details that need to be spot on. If anyone's interested, here's a link to my build pages. https://ussnorthcaroilna.shutterfly.com/ Thanks for putting up with me.
  12. You guys are awesome. I'm a butcher, the kit was that good.
  13. Thanks for the kind words. This was the best kit I've ever worked with.
  14. I have to chime in. I've used it in the airbrush on all my ship models to give the gloss coat before decals. I did find that if I add a few drops of Windex to the future it gives me a better result with my cheep airbrush. Once the decals are done I do another clear coat with the future. Next I do my washing, then I flat coat. I've found that Future is awesome for gluing my windshields. I use a fine tip brush and let the Future get sucked off the brush into the crack between the model and the window by capillary action. I've held the windows in place with Tamiya tape or cloths pins. With the tape make sure you keep well clear or it may glue the tape to the window. I haven't had that happen, but I think about it every time.
  15. I love it. Your right that half round looks good.
  16. Looks great! Fantastic job on the wood.
  17. Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am very happy with the way she turned out. Once I get the ship done that I'm making for a friend's 91 year old grandpa I think I'll be back with the cars. Lots of fun. I like this idea, and will use it for sure.
  18. Thanks. I just looked at the large picture, and didn't even see the mold line on the inside of the fender and the light, that's a big one. Old eyes, and not knowing enough about the car.
  19. Here is my finished 56 Nomad. It's mostly stock with the addition of BMF, some hoses, and throttle spring. Mostly it went together without any problems. I didn't like the decal for the emblem, so I painted it. I'll add the windshield washer reservoir as soon as I fight it away from the carpet monster.
  20. You were right. It went a lot better than I thought. Nice stuff to work with.
  21. Once again, thank you all for the kind words. Last night and part of today I spent working with the BFM. Boy do I wish this was around when I was younger. Once my nerves were tested to the fullest, I moved on to the windows. They went on nice, and without any fuss. Except for looking for one of the wing windows, but the carpet monster was kind. This is about it for today. I'll see if I can get some bumpers on sometime this week.
  22. Thanks for the kind words. I'm not sure if she'll look stunning, but I'll be happy if it kind of almost looks like a car. I'm also happy with my color choice. I wasn't sure about splitting the top, but the rib lines made an easy place to mask, and I think it gives it kind of a Star Trek look. Give me a shout when you post the pictures. I'd like to see them.
