~Mark~ Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Has anyone airbrushed the Chrome Silver instead of using the bare metal foil? My next build is going to be the 56 Nomad, and I'm not sure which direction to go.
Austin T Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 I use Tamiya chrome silver a lot. It's pretty good airbrushed as a nice even silver but I would not use it as a trim because it isn't as shinny as trim is. Have you thought about using alclad?
my80malibu Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 How about using Model Master #28003 Silver laquer?
slantasaurus Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Can't beat BMF for trim. C'mon, say it Jim......"It's shiney"
~Mark~ Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Are you speaking of X-11 the acrylic? Yes. How about using Model Master #28003 Silver laquer? Haven't looked at it yet. I'll check it out.
mnwildpunk Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Sorry alcad and bmf are the best result you will get. Much better then any paint
~Mark~ Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 I just got some BMF, so I guess I made up my mind. Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to look into getting my spray booth set up so I can spray the alcad paints.
