Tony Jenkins Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 This is a 66 Nova I built for an M.C.M.A. contest, they thought it was BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH but I didn,t care. Scratch build something and you might like it! This is in no way as "big as Darryls" but I did the decals on my own, yes, they are just black! What did you do?
Guest Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I don't get it. Why are you ranting about Darryl? Darryl who?
Mooneyzs Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I don't get it. Why are you ranting about Darryl? Darryl who? Roger... I believe he is talking about MisterTwister (Darryl) who did a beautiful replica of his Nova that he used to race.
dragcarz Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I like it, I remember seeing cars just like this at the track years ago. You captured the look and feel perfectly!
futurattraction Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I think you did a great job on your build. And even though all your decals are black, they are tasteful and look really good! I like it!
Bowtienutz Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Having fun Tony is what it's all about. Remember at a contest there can be only so many "winners" Win-place or show. How many guys put nothing on the table? Obviously you had fun building it. If your building for a trophy your missing the point of modeling. Eons ago when I was president of the MCMA I would announce where we bought are awards from. Say they have the art work you can buy one. You did a nice job on your Nova, you got nothing to be upset about, blow it off. Ask the judges what they didn't like about your car. You just might embarrass the daylights out of them because the wow factor of something else may have caused them to not even look at your car. A little constructive criticism can help you out too. Build on. Don't go "Loco" about it. Pun intended.
booboo60 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 bad mother $$%$^, Lol, Like it, Looks super, Did you also make the Fuel Line spliter? I need one also, nice slicks also, I love a Nova with the stacksout of the hood, Keep it up bro
Davewilly Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I think it looks great and good job on the decals too!
Jim3 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Looks sharps to me ... Your one up on me .. Ive never had luck with clear decals sheets you could always see through the ink.. LOL
krazyglu Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I am a little bit confused here, I would apperciate you explaining what this post is all about Tony. Seem's like a rather nice model, I already seen one member say it is better than they can build so your mad and still better at building than many people...no matter what a contest panel say's. Are you mad because you didn't win a trophy???? What are you doing mentioning Darryl????Please tell me you are not talking about the other member on here and his build????? Too bad you couldn't have just posted pictures of your build and left all the other stuff out, now you need to explain yourself.
Greg Cullinan Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I dig this Nova. It's a sharp model. Looks good.
