bryan_m Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) ok guys, im back but moving slow. all of my materials have been sitting so long that most of them have dried out, i lost 2 sets (4bottles) of casting resin.....man that stings a bit! and alot of my paints are dried out, so i will have to resupply when i have the extra money..... i started on this willys a while ago, and decided to get back on it after seeing how richard made his steering work on his 32 rod, it reminded me that i had done this, so i guess its a good place to get started (again) heres a couple shots of the steering, i chopped the knuckles off of the axle, filed them so they moved easily, and added some pins to it. here you can see where i cut the knuckle and steering arms from the knuckle, i have the center tierod completed as well but alas, no pic of it yet. hopefully later this evening i can get something done to it. ive done alot of work to the engine as well, i scratchbuilt some pulleys, and to keep harry happy (haha) i made alternator brackets, and a tensioner for the blower drive belt. they came out pretty good, but again, no pics yet.... stay tuned, ill have pics in a bit. thanks for lookin cheers bryan Edited January 18, 2014 by bryan_m

bryan_m Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 well, i have been looking through all the great work you guys are doing, and i feel inspired to do something (even if its wrong) but i dont know if i wanna continue with this willys, or something else...... there are so many things i wanna do to this kit, ive already cut open the trunk, and scratchbuilt a bunch of small parts......but im not sure what im gonna do.....ill take a couple pics of the pulleys and stuff i made and post them shortly..... stay tuned bryan

bryan_m Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 ok fellas, here we go, finally! heres the blower and intake manifold, nearly finished. i modified the kits aircleaner to fit the new carbs, no pic of it yet.the pulley is scratchbuilt from tubing and sheet... in the upper portion of the next pic are more of my scratchbuilt pulleys for the waterpump, and damper.......and in the lower is my blower belt tensioner a nice accel "super coil" blower sitting on the engine......the linkage is made from watchparts. i plan on making some headers from solder, heres the flanges i found. and here is my completed working steering.........it came out pretty good. it needs some "stops" added to it so it doesnt turn too far though... more to come.....i hope. thanks for lookin, lemme know what you think. thanks guys cheers bryan
bryan_m Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 just a note........ i plan on removing the power wires from the coil, they look way too big, and also im going to make a new return spring for the carbs, it also looks too big to me...... cheers bryan
