Ira Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Dremel's getting a workout for sure ! The Dremel Tool & the X-acto Knife both get a Workout! My 2 favorite tools...
cobraman Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Ira, you are king of the kitbashers for sure !
Ira Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Looks cool so far. My only concern is the windscreen for the TIE fighters and the Jedi Starfighters is too distinctive. It would be like putting a Mecedes badge on a Daewoo and hoping nobody notices. Are you going to modify that window? Thanks Jason! These windows remind me of WW2 USA Bomber Windows...
Greg Cullinan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 The canopy looks super good with foil. Like the details you are putting into your model. Look forward to seeing it come together.
Ira Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 OMG. How BIG is this thing, Ira? Looks like it will be between 5 and 6 inches tall.
Ira Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 GOING UP! I am going to use a 25th scale Lowrider Wheel for a Vertical Thruster. I traced a circle with the circle template. I started the hole with an X-acto Knife. I used a Reamer to make the hole larger. Then I used a Sanding Drum, by hand, to smooth it out a bit. Here is the Thruster in place. I'll put a black wash on it later... More Coming...
Davewilly Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Very cool! The EXPO sounds cool I wish I still lived in Santa Rosa So I could go! lol
Ira Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 Looks like it is Huge?? Looking Good... Most of the Photos are larger than the Model... It's only 5 or 6 inches tall.
Ira Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 BOXING THE BOTTOMS! Before attaching the tops of the Legs to the Body I need to fill in the Gaps On the Bottom Sides. I cut a length of plastic strip and glued it in place. Then I cut it to fit up against the Body. More Coming...
Ira Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 Ira, you are king of the kitbashers for sure ! Thanks Ray! Yeah, I Love Kit Bashing...

Ira Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 ARMS FOR USA WALKER! I decided to add Arms to USA Walker. I found some Great Arms in this Star Wars Probe Droid that I had collected. It was made back in 1996 so I went on Ebay and found a second Probe Droid. Here it is out of the container. I removed six screws and the five Arms fell right out. They are all different, so I got two Droids to make matched pairs. I also used these type of Arms on my Grabber Model. More Coming...
Ira Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 THE BIG ONE! I decided to give USA Walker three Arms. The first Arm will be the Big one located in the rear. First I marked the area for cutting. Next I cut out the marked area with an X-Acto Knife. Then I smoothed it out with Sanding Boards. This is the Big Arm, reminds me of a Mechanical Scorpion. More Coming...
Ira Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 MORE POWER! I decided to add more detail to the rear Arm Assembly. I found this half of a Rear End in a 25th scale Dragster Kit. It will be perfect for a Winch/Arm Control Unit for Walker. I cut off the shafts and glued it in place... Here it is after some Silver Paint was applied. Cables and/or Control Rods will be added later. More Coming...
Ira Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 CARBS! The detail is pretty flat on the Starfighter Interior, so I decided to add some Carburetor Parts to make it more interesting. I added one and a half Carbs to each side... Here is a preview of the Interior, before the body halves are glued together. More Coming...
flat-top Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Looks like another gem Ira. Impressive modeling.
Ira Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 IT'S ALIVE!!! I assembled the Cockpit and attached the leg assemblies with Zap-A-Gap. Wow, this is actually starting to look like something! More Coming...

Ramfins59 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Ira, are you a child of the 60's..?? Do your wild, imaginative ideas come to you in "flashbacks"...??? All kidding aside...... You do some fantastic work.
Ira Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 WINGTIPS!!! USA Walker stance was a bit wobbly, I needed to do something. I found 2 sets of Wing Ends from a Monogram Dragster Kit. They fit in place perfectly on the backs of the feet so now I've got a little more stability. I added braces from the Star Wars Pod Racer to Beef them up. Here it is with a little paint... Rear Shoe View! More Coming...
