charlie8575 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Nice job on the foil and decal, Mike. What printer did you get? This morning was indeed a good morning to build- what a mess we had down here- raining cats, dogs, and other small animals. Charlie Larkin
mrmike Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 Thanks guys! Nice job on the foil and decal, Mike. What printer did you get? This morning was indeed a good morning to build- what a mess we had down here- raining cats, dogs, and other small animals. Charlie Larkin Charlie, I got an HP 7520. Far better than the 5510 that crapped out on me for the second time. Two 5510's in two years...that's a sign!
mrmike Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 I got the glass and the interior installed today. I'm nearly done with the engine compartment. Using some parts sprue, I made the connecting pipes for the exhaust system. I need to clean up the bottom of the engine. More to come...
Skypower Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Looking really good, looks like you about got this one whipped. Nice job.
slusher Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 White interior looks great with the body color Mike....
mrmike Posted April 10, 2014 Author Posted April 10, 2014 Thanks Carl! I was sitting here tonight looking at the 'Cuda 383 sitting on the bench and I didn't like the stance. The nose sat too high, almost like a gasser. To my eye, the rear sat just fine. I decided to rip out the front suspension and mockup the custom lowered front suspension to see how the 'Cuda sat with that. Now the 'Cuda sits level and more to my liking. After looking at the driving lights and their small pins, I figured I would have issues with the driving lights falling off. I decided to carefully scrape the plating off of the mounting pins and in the mounting areas on the back of the front bumper. I glued the lights on and set the assembly aside to completely dry for a day. This should give the lights sufficient time to dry completely. More to come...
1972coronet Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Photo number 2 definitely looks like a winner , Mike ! I'll have to remember to utilise the custom version's front suspension when I get around to building mine .
slusher Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Great stance Mike, most Revell Cuda models sit high in the front unless you modify it...
BLOODBANE Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 Agreed. the lower stance look best....Nice work.
charlie8575 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Good to know about the suspension. Very nice work on this, Mike. I'll look forward to seeing it somewhere along the circuit. Charlie Larkin
am73grand Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 This is coming along very nicely. You nailed the stance and I love the color. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
