ERIK88
This is a MPC mustang svo, pretty much stock besides the addition of flocking and a few battery cables. Primered, sanded, painted Krylon gloss black, krylon clear, and novus 1 and 2 applied afterwards. All coats of paint were speed dryed using a dehydrator. Any comments good or bad please feel free. I know the mustang might sit a little high, but it is normal for an MPC kit, It is hard to lower the suspension on this one.

Modelmikey
Good looking build. I picked one of these up a few years ago, moe for the rare factor. I think it was re-tooled into the '88 Gt kit.

ERIK88
Thanks a lot, I forgot to give credit to MsDano85gt for trading a new body, since I had screwed my original one up! and helping me make this build happen by doing so ! That guy is a 80s mustang expert Freak! lol Edited February 5, 2014 by ERIK88

MsDano85gt
i don't know of a "white version" just the black molded (easier to find) and the older version of silver molded has sunken in headlamps vs black kit has the flush "compound" lamps both kit versions can be built with the headlamps either way ( the little plastic lenses are inserts to the chrome housing) its funny the recaro seats and the little clear plastic headlamp pcs can be founf in the reissued 87-88 gt mustangs by amt/mpc. i had always wondered what those clear lenses were for untill i got one of the old svo kits on the 87-88 you can very carefully remove the "cheesegrater" molded in taillamps and use the clear "lx" / gt style clear tail lamp buckets insted! was it their early attempt to be able to customize a gt 5.0 to a base model 5.0 lx?? Eric great shiney build!! my paint never turns out so nice..... I would reccomend on the seat head rests to carefully remove the "mesh" from the headrests...... or paint the mesh black don't think svo's came with halo seats think they had "lx" style short headrests ?? otherwise spot on b uild!! you have motivated me to get something done!! Modelmikey
Yes, they are pretty rare and go up to $70 bucks on ebay sometimes I think another one molded in white one was retooled or silver. The one I have is molded in Silver, and actually doesn't say MPC on the box, although its the same box art as the MPC with silver car on it. I picked it up for $20 so looks like an OK deal. I opened it though, some collectors might not like that.

ERIK88
Yea I guess worth value could be less, I see people on eBay buy opened models at collector prices quite often though. Edited February 7, 2014 by ERIK88
ERIK88
Besides! Even when I have a rare kit, I can't help myself but to open the box and inspect contents!'!! That's half of the cost I pay for!! For that euphoric experience, those few seconds!!! Lol jk
MsDano85gt
i open my "rare " stuff had to hide 3 of those older mpc foxbody mustang kits from myself that are factory sealed so i won't open them!! one is a annivarsary mustang!!
