This is my 32 Brass Ford. I used the parts from the Revell 32 Ford 3 window kit as templates to make everything from brass, except for the body and the engine block.

Here's a picture of the actual dime steering wheel. I did this for fun to see how many people would notice it.

Here you can see the brass valve covers, air cleaner, alternator, radiator shell and headlights.

Here you can see the brass wheels and the drum brake detail.

This is the all brass frame and working suspension that was made using the kit parts as templates.

Stay tuned, more to come as I get better at working with the website...

Super work! I love the dime for the steering wheel. Is it a 1932 coin? Are the seat and dash painted brass? I also love the barefoot gas pedal. Again, great work! B)

Jerry,

WOW!!! Just when you think you've seen it all. I'm just getting the little extras added to my builds working with plastic and now this. How's the brass to work with? I know it's somewhat soft, so it must be easy to bend into shapes? Do you machine your own stuff?

The dash and sides of the seat are gold leaf. I :D am not sure what year the dime is, but I should have gotten a 32 :o . Thanks for your interest in my models :D

Yes I machine my own stuff. I don't find it hard to work with brass, you do have to heat it up to make it plyable. When you start pounding on it, it gets hard, then repeat the steps of heat and pounding till you get the shapes your after. Thanks for your interest. :P

Yow, brass is cool stuff to work with. It machines easily but is about 3 times the density of aluminum. Meaning that it is heavy, but very forgiving. It will "work harden" from cold working, but heating it up will release the stresses and make it easy to form again.

I prefer to work in aluminum and stainless steel myself, but can appreciate the work that went into your brass '32.
